Thomas Dasher

Thomas E. Dasher retired from Berry College in 2018. After graduating from Davidson College in 1971 with a BA in English, he received his MA in English at UNC-Chapel Hill in 1973. He taught high school English in Aiken, SC, for two years before he completed his Ph.D. in English from the University of South Carolina in 1978. He taught at Georgia Southern College (now University) from 1978 -1983 when be became head of the Department of English at Valdosta State College (now University), a position he held for eleven years. He then served as Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences at VSU from 1994 until 2000 when he became Provost at Berry College in Rome, GA. After seven years as Provost, he joined the Department of English and Rhetoric at Berry, serving as chair of the department from 2014-2018.
