Bruno Leone was born in Montemurro (Potenza) on 15 November 1949, the third son of Lucanian painter Maria Padula (1915-1987) and Campanian artist Giuseppe Antonello Leone (1917-2016). His other siblings were also born in Montemurro, the birthplace of Maria Padula where the family lived: Nicola Giuliano (1943-2020), Silvio Domenico (1946), and Rosa Maria called Rosellina (1951). In 1952, Giuseppe Antonello Leone obtained a teaching position in Salerno, and the family moved to Vietri sul Mare. Here Bruno attended an
