Mentor of Palladio, and the translator of I Qattri Libri dell'Architettura [The Four Books of Architecture]. This publication proved very popular and was reissued twice in the next twenty years, albeit Lord Burlington reproved the Baroque “improvements” Leoni had felt it necessary to make to the work of the great master and excluded Leoni from his circle. Leoni is principally known for redesigning Lyme Park in Cheshire and building Clandon Park.
