On the 5th of February, 1971 Apollo 14 landed on the moon. It was launched on the 31st of January from the Kennedy Space Center, Florida and manned by Alan Shepard, Jr., Stuart A. Roosa and Edgar D. Mitchell and was the 3rd Apollo mission to land on the moon. During the mission the astronauts spent over 9 hours on the surface, collecting lunar material and exploring. This was the first mission to transmit colour television pictures from the surface of the Moon and is also remembered for Shepard playing golf on the lunar surface.
