New Nationalism was Roosevelt's political conceptualisation. It promoted federal intervention to achieve social justice. Roosevelt introduced the concept in a speech of 1910 that attempted to bring together the liberal and conservative branches of the Republican Party. However, he was unsuccessful, and went on to voice his ideas as the Progressive's presidential candidate in 1912.
