After the death of James IV of Scotland at the Battle of Flodden Field in 1513, his one-year-old son James V succeeds to the throne. Initially, his mother Margaret Tudor had served as Regent, but after her remarriage to Archibald Douglas, Earl of Angus, in 1514, she was forced from power. Now the Scottish Parliament names the Duke of Albany as Protector of Scotland, and Margaret Tudor escapes to England.
