War between the Ottoman Turks and the Venetian Republic is ended by the Peace of Constantinople, in an agreement highly favourable to the Turks. Venice cedes the island of Cyprus, and agrees to pay an indemnity of 300,000 crowns and to increase the regular annual tribute payment.
