'The Main Plot' to replace James I with Arabella Stuart is discovered

Short Note This is a short note

The English government discovers a plot - known as the 'Main Plot' - hatched by Lords Cobham and Grey, which plans to dethrone James I and replace him with his cousin Arabella Stuart. On 17th July, Sir Walter Raleigh is arrested for suspected complicity in this scheme.
