Short Note This is a short note

Colonel Pride's Purge of the House of Commons forcibly removed many Presbyterian members opponents of Oliver Cromwell; the remainder is known as the 'Rump' (of the Long Parliament), which subsequently votes to discontinue negotiations with Charles I.
