Short Note This is a short note

Today regarded as the beginning of the Reconquista, the battle marked the first victory of a Christian army against the Muslim Moors, after their conquest of the Iberian territory in 711. The battle assured the independence of the Kingdom of Asturias in the North of the Iberian peninsula, which became a Christian stronghold against further Muslim expansion.
