Daylanne English

Daylanne K. English is Professor and Chair of English at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. She is the author of two books, "Each Hour Redeem": Time and Justice in African American Literature (2013, University of Minnesota Press) and Unnatural Selections: Eugenics in American Modernism and the Harlem Renaissance (University of North Carolina Press, 2004). She has published essays on African American literature and culture in American Literary History, American Literature, Critical Inquiry, and American Review, among other journals. She has been a member of the MLA's Black American Literature and Culture Division Executive Committee and a member of the MLA Delegate Assembly. She is currently a member of PMLA advisory board and of the Executive Committee of the ADE. She is at work on a digital humanities project on Afrofuturism and on a print monograph on the subject of the afterlife.
