Joanna Allan

Joanna teaches Hispanic Studies at the University Durham, specialising in gender and resistance to authoritarianism and colonialism in Western Sahara and Equatorial Guinea. Before entering academia, Joanna worked in the public and third sectors at London Councils European Service (within Greater London Enterprise), the UK Consortium on AIDS and International Development and National Energy Action. In her free time, she chairs Western Sahara Resource Watch.
