James Illingworth

James Illingworth is a PhD candidate at the Queen's University in Belfast. He is writing a thesis on the representations of gender and the body in the works of French novelist George Sand (1804-1876). His research interests include gender, the novel, book history and material culture in the long nineteenth century, and in addition to his work on Sand he has also published on book collecting and the occult.
