Kris Swank

Kris Swank is a librarian and faculty member at Pima Community College, Tucson, Arizona, and at Signum University, an online educational institution specializing in imaginative literature and Germanic philology. She is a PhD candidate in English Literature at the University of Glasgow and holds an MA in Language and Literature from Signum University, an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, and an MLS from the University of Arizona. Her research interests include J.R.R. Tolkien, fantasy literature, and medievalism in literature, television, and film. She has been published in Mythlore, Tolkien Studies, and The Journal of Tolkien Research, as well as several edited collections, including Critical Insights: The Hobbit (Salem, 2016), A Wilderness of Dragons: Essays in Honor of Verlyn Flieger (Gabbro Head, 2018), Transmedia Harry Potter: Essays on Storytelling Across Platforms (McFarland, 2019), Queenship and the Women of Westeros: Female Agency and Advice in Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019).
