(Storm and Stress) movement known for passionate youthful rebellion against both conventional society and traditional literary norms. The movement was promoted by Wagner and his friends and fellow writers Friedrich Klinger, Johann Anton Leisewitz, Friedrich (Maler) Müller, and Jakob (J. M. R.) Lenz, as well as Goethe and Schiller.
