Context

Husain M. Naqvi was born in London in 1974 into a diplomatic family, and grew up in many different countries, including Pakistan, Algeria, and the United States. He graduated from Georgetown University in 1996 with a degree in economics and English literature and for many years followed a dual career, working in finance at the World Bank in the USA and Pakistan from 1997 to 2003, and as a writer. In 2003 Naqvi moved to Cambridge, MA, to study English literature, first at Harvard then at Boston University. He also ran a poetry slam venue in Washington, won the Phelan Prize for poetry, taught creative writing at Boston University and later, after his return to Karachi, where he now lives, he participated in the 2010 International Writing P…
