Magyar tribes under Arpad push westwards, cross the Carpathians and occupy the great Moravian territory at the middle Tisza river. From there they intensify their looting raids across continental Europe, attacking Bulgaria in 895, Northern Italy in 898 and 899, Carinthia (modern Austria) in 901.Around 900, they move from the upper Tisza river to the Pannonian plains, which later became the core of the arising Hungarian state.
